Some of these concepts were driven by personal interests, while some were driven by true business interest, but we never allowed our personal interest to negatively influence the overall goal of our business, which is to deliver solutions, and that is what our company stands for”

Andela, a Lagos and New York-based education start-up has brought a brand new approach to education on the African continent.
Instead of charging students for a four-year degree before releasing them to a brutal economic environment characterized by high unemployment, Andela recruits intelligent, local talents through a rigorous testing and interview process and then pays each student approximately $500 each month, with benefits, at the start of a four year fellowship designed to transform even the least tech-inclined person into a world-class software developer or a project manager.
Andela is a global talent accelerator that produces excellent developers and connects them with top employers. Andela finds the brightest young people in Africa and gives them the training and mentorship needed to thrive as full-time, remote developers for companies around the world.
The company is backed by investors including Steve Case, Omidyar Network, Founder Collective, Rothenberg Ventures, Learn Capital, Melo7 Tech Partners, Chris Hughes and Susa Ventures. Andela has offices in North America and Africa.
Andela extends engineering teams with world-class software developers. We recruit the most talented developers on the African continent, shape them into technical leaders, and place them as full-time distributed team members with companies that range from Microsoft and IBM to dozens of high-growth startups.
