Ingredients:

  • 8 sausages;
  • puff pastry – 250 g;
  • 1 egg;
  • black pepper – 16 pcs.

Process:

  • roll out the dough in a thin layer (0.7 mm), and cut it into strips of 1.5 – 2 cm;
  • remove the protective film from the sausages. Wrap up each sausage with the dough in spirals, making the dough on one side look like a sort of a bandaged mummy’s head;
  • grease the baking tray with olive oil and place your future mummies there. Smear each mummy with whipped egg yolk. Bake them until they are done;
  • make eyes by inserting 2 peas of pepper on each sausage.

Ingredients for 6-8 servings:

  • 2.5 glasses of flour;
  • 150 g of butter;
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar;
  • baking powder for the dough – 1 teaspoon (Or 1/3 teaspoon of baking soda with some vinegar);
  • 1 egg;
  • vanilla sugar – 1 tsp;
  • salt – 1 pinch;
  • jam or marmalade – 1 tbsp.;
  • peeled pumpkin seeds – 50 gr.

How to make “Witch’s fingers” cookies:

  • whip the butter with the sugar;

  • add the egg to the oil mass and mix well;

  • add the flour, salt, vanilla sugar and baking powder;

  • we should get some smooth and firm dough like on the picture;

  • wrap the dough in foil and put it into the fridge for 20-30 minutes;

  • now it’s time to make “fingers”. Model some finger-sized sticks. It’s ok if they get a bit sloppy or crooked – the fingers of a witch are supposed to look like this 🙂

  • insert pumpkin seeds to represent nails, take a knife and make some cuts to represent finger folds;
