1. Efritin closed?!
Efritin Nigeria was set up in August 2015, and it immediately became a wildly popular classified ads portal with wide-ranging categories, like Efritin cars, Efritin phones, Efritin jobs, etс. Now there isn’t even a single Efritin job vacancy there.
Only two years after the appearance on the market, Efritin suddenly shut down all of its operations and left about 200 workers unemployed. The company left behind virtually everything – from office tables to coffee mugs. The company must have gone bankrupt and even its furniture is said to be auctioned off.

2. The real reasons Efritin closed
Nils Hammer, the CEO of Saltside Technologies (the parent company to Efritin, based in Sweden) explained the reasons behind the company’s closing. They are insufficient internet representation, expensive data, and harsh economic conditions.
Nevertheless, reliable sources claim that there might be another reason for the fail. It must have happened because of the lawsuit that the ex-marketing manager, Uche Ajene, filed against the ex-MD of Efritin.com, Zakaria Hersi. The manager accused Zakaria of serious embezzlement and purposeful neglect of dysfunctional managerial processes in the company as well as of making false invoice trails.
And this scandal led to further destructive processes in the company.
Certain sources explain: “Efritin.com was one of the pioneer companies to enhance the classified business model in Nigeria but the internal collapse caused the complete shut-down of all the company’s business activity”.
