On the evening of June 24th, the 18th BET Awards 2018 event was held in Los Angeles. Jamie Fox presented annual awards for significant achievements in the field of entertainment for African Americans talentы; the party was aired live at the Microsoft Theater.
The winner of the Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA awards Jamie Fox called “Black Panther” the best movie, and Beyonce and Bruno Mar – the best performers of R&B/pop music.
1. The event highlights
Jamie Foxx has been joking and cheering everybody all night long, giving out his own brilliant improvisations. He was very good at keeping the audience laughing, so the BET Awards 2018 show was quite active and full of joy.
The evening was dedicated to the “Marvel” blockbuster “Black Panther”, which has got the first prize in the «Best Film of the Year» nomination. In addition, the movie has got the award and for the best male role (Chadwick Bozeman).
Later, Jamie invited Donald Glover, an artist, and singer, who recently released a video for the song “This is America” under the scenic pseudonym Childish Gambino. The song has already scored almost 300 million views. The audience did not expect to see Glover in the hall, so everyone was pleasantly surprised.
In 2018, the BET Awards did not have a special star cast of performers such as Cardi B, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar, but the show included the excellent performances of the ascending singer HER, rapper Mick Mill and Yolanda Adams, who paid tribute to Anita Baker and nearly brought her to tears!
