It’s been a little less than a year since Apple introduced their brand new smartphone models, iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. And although both models achieved massive success and are still enjoying huge sales and never-ending interest from the public, Apple is not going to stop and is already planning the release of the new model, which is rumoured to be called iPhone 7. More powerful battery
Even though Apple made a lot of positive changes in regards to the battery life with iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, buyers were still looking for more battery capacity and power. This is why iPhone 7 is rumoured to have a 3100 mAh battery, which will give users better battery life, which is exactly what a lot of users have been looking for in the new models. It’s expected that iPhone 7’s battery will survive two days of active use, which is more than you can currently get with basically any smartphone in the market.
Waterproof phone
If there is one thing buyers never expected from Apple, it’s a completely waterproof smartphone. However, people who have first-hand knowledge about the development of the new iPhone claim that the new model will not only be waterproof, but also dustproof. We have no way to check if this is true until Apple’s yearly event, but just imagine how cool it would be to have an iPhone that is completely secure against water, dust, and other elements.
New body
Recently Apple registered a patent for Liquid Metal, which is a brand new material developed in complete secrecy. Although earlier iPhones were primarily made of plastic and aluminium, there is a chance that the 2016 models will feature Liquid Metal as their main material. It will add to the look of the phone, as well as enhance the durability of the device, preventing dents and scratches all along the phone’s body and letting you enjoy your beloved iPhone for several years more without worrying about little defects.
Two cameras
Most smartphones these days are equipped with two cameras, one in the front and one in the back, which is why users wouldn’t be too excited if we were just talking about these two cameras. However, iPhone 7 is rumoured to have a new camera added to the known ones. The new camera will work together with the regular rear camera, one being a telephoto and one being a wide angle lens. With the help of two new cameras you’ll get higher resolution, better zoom, and overall higher quality of photos.
No headphone connection
We’re all used to smartphones having a headphone jack on the bottom or on the side of the device. How else would we listen to music using our smartphones? Turns out, Apple has a different opinion on the subject: the company believes you can totally do without headphone connection. What will buyers use instead? Well, it’s either going to be a Lightning port, or you’ll have to get wireless Bluetooth headphones. To tell the truth, not everyone is happy about this development, since most people have their favourite pair of headphones, so we’ll just have to see which way Apple goes.
Wireless charging
A lot of iPhone users have complained about the bad quality of original Apple chargers, which often bend and break, especially when you need them the most. Fuelled by these complaints, Apple has made a decision to introduce a wireless charger that will be compatible with the newest models. It’s hard to say yet whether the wireless charging will be the only option available to iPhone 7 buyers, or if there will be a regular charger along with the charging port, but if this rumour is true, it’s going to revolutionize the smartphone market.
New Home button
iPhone models differ in many things, but one of the few features most iPhones share is the Home butten. Well, now you can wave goodbye to the traditional Home button you’re used to, because the new iPhone may not have a Home button at all. Instead it will use the technology behind the 3D Touch feature, the one that made a lot of noise following Apple’s conference in September 2015. The new touch-sensitive Home button is a noteworthy addition to what already looks like a pretty exciting device, so we’ll just wait and see how it all turns out.
