1. Nokia 9 PureView specs
Even the new Nokia phone’s name makes it clear that the model is designed for the fans of smartphone photography. However, there are many more things this device has to offer, so here is a closer look at its specs.
1. Design and display
The design of the new Nokia phone is somewhat conservative. In a time when most smartphone brands are more than eager to ditch the bezels, the PureView comes with bezels on all four sides of the display, and the notch is nowhere to be found.
The front and the back of the phone are covered in Gorilla Glass, and the frame is made from solid aluminium, making the Nokia 9 PureView feel like a true flagship. Surprisingly for many buyers, HMD Global, the company behind Nokia, decided to throw out the headphone jack.
The Nokia 9 PureView comes with a 5.99-inch display that has a 1440 x 2880 resolution. One of the most interesting things about the display is the built-in fingerprint scanner for improved security.
2. Performance
While the PureView is a fantastic device in many regards, the performance isn’t anywhere near mindblowing. In fact, the performance specs of the Nokia 9 PureView are rather average for 2019.
The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 that is paired with 6GB of RAM. The chipset ensures adequate performance, but there are mobile phones with far more advanced chipsets in the market.
The phone comes with 128GB of storage and Android 9 Pie out of the box. All in all, the Nokia 9 PureView should be fast enough for most daily tasks, although there are concerns that the 5-camera setup may slow down the performance.
3. Camera and battery
Finally we move on to the most popular feature of the new Nokia phone – the five primary cameras. Located on the back of the device in a shape of a circle, all five cameras have 12MP and Zeiss optics, although only two of them shoot in colour, while the remaining three are monochrome.
When taking pictures, you can choose between the one-camera and full-camera photos. Keep in mind that if you are using all five cameras for a photo, each file will be between 25MB and 40MB, which can quickly eat up your storage space.
In front of the Nokia PureView, you will find a 20MP selfie camera that is equipped with the same advanced AI software for top-quality photography.
The Nokia 9 PureView runs on a 3320mAh battery, which is capable of lasting a whole day on a single charge. However, if you frequently use the 5-camera setup, the battery may drain out faster. Luckily, the phone supports wireless charging.
2. Nokia 9 PureView price
There is no word yet on when the Nokia 9 PureView is going to be released in Nigeria, but it is expected to become available internationally in March 2019. The recommended price for the new device is $699, or around ₦250,000.
