Grumpy Cat was born in April of 2012 and launched into stardom while still being a kitten. Grumpy Cat, whose real name was Tardar Sauce, became a viral sensation due to her upset facial expression. The cat’s fame started on Reddit before quickly transitioning to other social media websites.
The owner of Grumpy Cat built a whole empire around her pet’s fame. They sold mugs, t-shirts, and other merch with Tardar Sauce’s image. The cat often appeared in TV shows and commercials, even got her own waxwork at Madame Tussaud’s museum, and eventually gathered a cult following online.

2. Illness and death
The reason for Grumpy Cat’s peculiar appearance and small size was feline dwarfism and a visible underbite. However, despite her serious disease, the cat led a happy life and enjoyed the attention of her family and fans.
Recently Grumpy Cat contracted a urinary tract infection, which is very common for cats. Unfortunately, the complications of the infection eventually led to the beloved cat’s death. Tardar Sauce passed in her owner’s arms on May 14th.
