Kim Kardashian was born in Los Angeles, California in a family to Kris Jenner and an Armenian descent attorney, Robert Kardashian. Even though the second of four daughters and five children, Kim, seemed like grew up almost wired to fame being a classmate to Paris Hilton, her childhood was hardly the stuff of stardom. Sunday church, for example, was a regular part of her family life. While attending an exclusive Catholic girls’ high school, Kim Kardashian worked for her father’s company. When he died, the corporation was left to her and her siblings. Even though they have decided to sell it, they all knew the standards they have grown up with were high, so they had to work hard to keep them.

Despite her business endeavors, it was her infamous sex video she made with R&B singer Ray J. that catapulted her to superstardom. Vivid Entertainment, a large adult film company had paid $1 million for the rights of a 30-minute tape, after which it had promoted the release of the video under the name “Kim Kardashian Superstar”. Kim had filed a lawsuit for invasion into her private life. But three months later after the video’s debut, she agreed to a $5 million settlement.
“It definitely puts you in a category that I would wish upon no one,” Kim Kardashian later said on The Tyra Banks Show. “Your reputation is all that you have, and if people prejudge you over something that you did than that kind of sticks with you a long time.”

Employing her entrepreneurial business skills, Kim began her fashion career as a stylist and became an immediate sought-after wardrobe stylist for infomercials, television shows, music videos and photo shoots. But it was her organizational, orderly arrangement and construction of high-fashion closets that led her into a unique line of work, overhauling and designing closets for celebrities.
Spare Time
When not working, Kim gives her time to charitable causes. She is a Dream Foundation ambassador which grants last wishes to terminally ill adults and does regular sales on Ebay to generate donations for the charity. She is exceptionally passionate about cancer foundations since her father passed away from esophageal cancer.
