The Nigerian entertainment awards 2017 event was held on Saturday 25 November at the Symphony Space Peter Sharp Theater in New York.
The event was dedicated to giving the awards to the most prominent people of entertainment sphere in various categories such as music, movies, TV, Radio, etc. One of the stars of the evening was Davido who took the awards for Afropop Male Artist and the Best Single for his hugely popular song called “If”.

1. Nigerian entertainment awards 2017 winners and not only them
Davido has often become Wizkid’s competitor in a lot of categories of many award-giving events this year. When Davido received two awards this time, Wizkid did not win even a single one. He didn’t even show up at the event. Mayorkun, Davido’s protege, also won an award for Best New Act.
This info was made public via a congratulatory message tweeted by the President of Davido Music Worldwide, Lloyd Banko. Later Davido himself retweeted the message.
Rapper Olamide is also the winner of two awards: Best Album and Best Rap Act categories. His performance was closing the ceremony. The event was attended by such celebrities as Seyi Shay, Dremo and ID Cabasa.
Olamide has won the Best Album award for the second time in a row. The first one was in 2016 when his album “The Glory” became the best one.
Ramsey Nouah took the Best Actor award for his part in 76 while Funke Akindele became the holder of the Best Actress award for “A Trip to Jamaica”.
Among other stars that were present at the ceremony, one can mention Davido, Olamide, Seyi Shay, DJ Self, Young Paris, Barbee, Gbenro Ajibade, Dremo, Korto Davies, Sheyman, ID Cabasa, DJ Enimoney, Danagog, Dotman and a lot of others.
