1. Who is Littlefinger?
It’s safe to say that Petyr Baelish was one of the most polarizing Games of Thrones character. You could either love him or, more likely, hate him – there is no other option. But what exactly made him such a controversial figure?
During the seven seasons of GoT run, Littlefinger proved to be manipulative, cunning, and ruthless. He has wronged many characters and used beloved Game of Thrones personalities for his own gain. Plus, unlike some of the antagonists in the story, he never felt remorse for his actions.
Petyr Baelish came from a very humble background and managed to climb nearly to the very top before meeting his ultimate demise. Most fans couldn’t help but cheer on the death of Lord Baelish, who was sentenced and ultimately killed by the Stark sisters.

3. What’s next for Game of Thrones?
Right now, after that explosive finale, fans have probably just one question left: when can we expect the Game of Thrones new season? Currently, there are very few updates on the final season of GoT, but here is what you should know:
- Season 8 will be GoT’s shortest season ever with just 6 episodes since there isn’t much of a story left to tell.
- The filming of the final season will begin in October 2017.
- The earliest we can expect the new season to be released is late 2018, although early 2019 is more likely.
- Despite a shorter season, the production value is believed to grow significantly due to new set pieces and expensive location filming.
- Season 8 will be based on two novels from G.R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, called The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. The novels have not been published yet.
