At the beginning of the month, Nike showed the team uniform for Super Eagles of Nigeria. Nigerian football team will participate in the World Cup, which will take part in Russia this summer. The new uniform immediately became the main topic for discussion among sports fans and fashion lovers.
Super Eagles new jersey seems simple, but has got everybody talking. The reason is probably in addressing team’s traditions Nike admitted that 1995 King Fang Cup jersey has become the prototype. Although the League is not listed among FIFA Confederations Cup, the design could not go unnoticed.
The jerseys were presented at the ceremony in England, where John Mikel Obi, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho modeled in new kits. It is already announced that Nigerian team will wear the new uniforms to five friendly games before the championship and three games with Argentina, Croatia, and Iceland in group D.
Super Eagles jersey is colored in light green and is decorated with white V-shaped pattern, which changes to grey on the sleeves. The club’s emblem is placed on the left. On the right side, Nike left its traditional sign, which matches in color with sleeve patterns.
Eagles jersey for home games is different – green, a bit darker than usual. The shorts are plain white in both kits. Obi admitted that the team will definitely love the new design, which reminds about the Gold Generation of Nigerian football.
