This week fans of the Marvel cinematic universe are preparing for the biggest event of the series – the final battle. On April 24, Avengers: Endgame premieres in Nigeria and many other countries, while the USA fans will have to wait until April 26. Here is everything you need to know about the movie.

1. The Marvel franchise
Even the diehard fans of the Marvel cinematic universe are often surprised to find out that Avengers: Endgame is the 22nd title in the whole franchise. The whole franchise turns 11 years old in 2019. It all started in 2008 with the original Iron Man. Currently, the series is divided into three chapters.
The newest, third chapter of the franchise started in 2016 with Captain America: Civil War and is about to conclude with Avengers: Endgame. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean the series cannot be restarted. Although it’s worth noting that this may be the last film where Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor, played by Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth respectively, will appear, since their contracts end with the upcoming Avengers: Endgame.
While some beloved actors may not come back for next chapters, there is always a chance that Marvel will decide to continue the franchise with the remaining and new superheroes. For example, Captain Marvel, a superhero who was recently introduced by the franchise, will definitely play an important part in the universe.
2. Who survived and who didn’t
At the end of Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos, the antagonist of the film, snapped his fingers, killing half of the Earth’s population. Naturally, some Avengers didn’t survive the snap. Thanos killed some of the most beloved superheroes of our time: Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, and Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy.
However, some Avengers survived and are ready to face the final battle in the newest installment of the series. The Avengers who will return include Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, M’Baku, Ant-Man, and Okoye.
3. Plot details
Marvel is famously protective of the plot details of their films. Very few spoilers have been released about the upcoming movie, and the cast has been very careful not to let any information about the film out.
However, we can rest assured that the film will be packed with action and unexpected twists. Being the longest Marvel movie to date and clocking in at an impressive 3 hours and 2 minutes, the film will definitely surprise you, make you laugh, and possibly leave you teary-eyed at the end of the iconic series.
Given the lack of spoilers, fans of the franchise have developed their own theories about what is going to happen in Avengers: Endgame. The most popular theory is that time travel and the Quantum Realm will play a crucial part in the events of the film.
Some are even predicting that the Avengers will use a time jump to go back and collect the Infinity Stones before they get into the hands of Thanos. There are only a few days until we can find out whether this prediction will turn out to be true, so make sure to book your tickets now!
