1. Infinix S5 and S5 lite specs
The two new Infinix phones feature numerous improvements compared to the previous models, and here are the most important specs of the two latest Infinix devices.
1. Design and display
The first thing to know about the Infinix S5 and S5 Lite is that the two phones look absolutely identical and you may not easily distinguish between the two. Both devices come with 6.6-inch IPS displays, a 720x1600p resolution, and a nearly bezel-less display with the selfie camera being housed in the top right corner of the screen.
The body of the Infinix S5 and its counterpart is made of polycarbonate plastic with a textured surface that instantly gives the smartphone a luxury feel. There are three colours available at choice: Nebula Black, Violet, and Quetzal Cyan. The fingerprint scanner is located, traditionally, in the top part of the back panel.
The hardware and software specs are where the biggest differences between the Infinix S5 and S5 Lite can be seen. Both devices are powered by a Mediatek MT6761 Helio P22 processor, but while the Infinix S5 Lite offers a choice between 3GB and 4GB of RAM, the Infinix S5 comes with 6GB of RAM onboard.
The storage options offered by the two new Infinix phones are also different. You will get either 32GB or 64GB with the S5 Lite, while the Infinix S5 will give you either 64GB or 128GB of storage. Both versions can have their memory expanded to 256GB with a microSD card.
In terms of software, both smartphones run Android 9.0 Pie, which is currently not the most current version of Android offered by Google. You should be able to upgrade the device after the purchase. In the Infinix S5 and S5 Lite, you will also find Infinix’s own XOS 5.0, which is designed specifically for the phone’s characteristics.
3. Camera and battery
You are probably not going to be surprised to learn that the Infinix S5 Lite comes with a triple camera setup on the back with 16MP, 5MP, and 2MP cameras with a variety of features for better photography. On the front, you will find a 16MP shooter with no LED flash due to the lack of space.
The Infinix S5 went one step further and now features a quad-camera setup, where you will find 16MP+5MP+2MP+2MP cameras, as well as a whopping 32GB front-facing camera. Again, there is no LED flash, but with the extreme screen brightness technology, you will get decent lighting on your selfies.
Both the Infinix S5 and S5 Lite feature 4000mAh batteries. They should give you around a whole day of active use, but neither of the devices supports fast charging, so you’ll need to allocate plenty of time for the phone to fully charge.
2. Infinix S5 and S5 Lite price in Nigeria
Starting from last week, you can officially purchase the Infinix S5 and S5 Lite in select stores around the country and online. But how much exactly are the two new phones going to cost? The price for the Infinix S5 Lite starts at ₦42,500 and ₦46,500 for the 3GB and 4GB RAM versions respectively, while the S5 retails for ₦53,000 and ₦62,500 for the 64GB and 128GB storage options.
