AFRIMA, or All Africa Music Awards, is the annual awards ceremony that is one of the most anticipated events in the Nigerian music industry. This year, AFRIMA took place for the sixth time over the weekend at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos. Here are the winners and the red carpet looks from the ceremony!

AFRIMA 2019: Burna Boy wins African artiste of the year Burna Boy has won the African Artiste of the year at the 6th AFRIMA which held at Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos on Saturday. Burna Boy is indeed the rave of the moment with his Grammy nomination announced earlier this week, he has now been crowned the AFRIMA African artiste of the year and Best Male artiste in West Africa Although the 2019 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) was held in Lagos, Nigeria on Saturday, Burna Boy and several other Nigerian artistes who won different categories were absent but represented by their managers unlike award winners from other regions of Africa who were in attendance. This year’s show was attended by Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed. Wizkid also won song of the year in Africa, with his song ‘Fever’, while Tiwa Savage won Best Female Artiste in Western Africa.
