1. Oppo Reno 3 and 3 Pro specs

The Oppo Reno 3 and 3 Pro belong to the high-end segment of Android smartphones, but do their specs match their premium positioning in the market? Here is what you can look forward to with your new Reno 3 or Reno 3 Pro.

1. Design and display

From a visual standpoint, the Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro look fairly similar: they have the same 6.4-inch display, but the Pro version has slightly thinner bezels, which is why its screen-to-body ratio is more impressive. Both devices have a 1080x2400p resolution, but while the Reno 3 Pro comes with a Super AMOLED display, the Reno 3 has simply an AMOLED display.

Despite their flagship status, the Reno 3 and 3 Pro have plastic bodies and plastic frames. The two devices are available in three colours: Sky White, Midnight Black, and Auroral Blue. In both phones, there is a fingerprint scanner, which is located underneath the screen for the user’s convenience.

2. Performance

The performance specs of the Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro certainly match its premium status. The two phones have a similar octa-core CPU and a similar GPU, but a different chipset: Mediatek MT6779 Helio P90 for the Reno 3 and Mediatek Helio P95 for the Reno 3 Pro.

Both phones come with 8GB of RAM, which should be enough even for the most challenging performance tasks, but there is a difference in storage options. The Reno 3 comes with a single storage option of 128GB, but with the Reno 3 Pro, you have an opportunity to choose between 128GB and 256GB of storage. With both devices, you can upgrade the storage with a microSD card, but while the 3 Pro uses a dedicated slot, the Reno 3 uses a shared SIM slot.

Unsurprisingly, both the Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro come with the latest version of Android, Android 10, on board. On top of Android OS, there is the ColorOS 7, Oppo’s own version of the OS designed specifically for enhancing the user experience of the buyers. The new Oppo phones are among the first smartphones available in Nigeria that support 5G.

3. Camera and battery

The Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro both have quadruple camera setups, but their look and composition are slightly different. In the Oppo Reno 3 primary camera, you will find 48MP, 13MP, 8MP, and 2MP sensors, equipped with LED flash and a variety of photography enhancing features. The Oppo Reno 3 Pro, on the other hand, comes with 64MP, 13MP, 8MP, and 2MP sensors, paired with dual LED flash. There are also major differences in the front camera department: the Reno 3 has a single 44MP hole-punch selfie camera located in the central top part of the display, while the Reno 3 Pro has a dual selfie camera, consisting of 44MP and 2MP sensors, located in the top left corner of the screen.

The batteries in the new Oppo Reno releases are completely identical: in both phones, you will find a 4025mAh battery that should give you a whole day of use. Both phones support fast charging: charging your phone to 50% should take you just 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the model.

2. Oppo Reno 3 and 3 Pro price in Nigeria

The Oppo Reno 3 and 3 Pro were unveiled earlier this spring and should become available in Nigeria by the end of the month. The Oppo Reno 3 will retail for ₦159,000, while the recommended price for the Oppo Reno 3 Pro ₦209,000, which means there is an exact ₦50,000 price difference between the two models.
